imageCLASS MF654Cdw registration won't accept serial number

Ok...Is there a product registration trick for Serial Numbers not recognized???

Got this amazing printer a few days ago and I'm trying to register it. It's a Color Laser Canon Imageclass MF654CDW purchased in store at a best buy in Houston TX on 12/28/2024. This is the feedback I got when I tried to register:

The serial number you have entered is invalid for one or more reasons:

1) The serial number does not match the product you have selected (FCC ID which starts with "AZD" is often mistaken for serial number.

2) The serial number entered indicates this product was not intended for sale in the United States and is ineligible for registration and support in the U.S.

Please verify your product model and serial number to ensure they were entered correctly.

This wasn't purchased outside the US and was purchased from Best Buy. I made sure my serial number is correct. I don't want to put the entire serial number, but it does begin with YPS. I just want to register this product. I tried virtual assistant, and it doesn't recognize Imageclass MF654CDW at all so I'm stuck in a contact loop and hoping I can get some assistance.

Welcome.

Canon identifies the printer as MF654Cdw.

Maybe the lower case will work with the Assistant tool.

If not, give Canon a call at 1-800-OK-CANON.
