topic imageCLASS MF264dw II Has to be unplugged once a week in Office Printers

Canon's registration system is terrible. There are no numbers on my printer that qualify as serial numbers, according to their standard, so I just made one up.

This printer is only about a year old. I use it very little, maybe print one page once or twice a week. I have to unplug it about every week because it won't print. It spools to Windows but will not start. I can unplug power, then plug it back in, and it will print. This is the second Canon laser printer I've owned and they always have weird issues like this. I have a good UPS so power interruption isn't the issue.

I just want to print something occasionally and not have to unplug the printer after two or three pages.

The S/N might be found on the bottom of the unit.

Was the first printer the same model?

Some things to try with this unit (if they haven't already been done)

. Check for any software updates. If there are, update it accordingly.

. Completely delete the printer's profile from the computer and reload the drivers from Canon's website.

Does the unit behave in a similar manner when printing from a smartphone or Apple product?
