Greetings,

The MF642Cdw is a laser printer. It uses toner. It is not classified as an inkjet.

The issue is exactly what you describe, the printer is out of toner. Tap the consumables icon on the LCD screen. It will show you it's toner levels. Replace the one(s) that are low or empty.

thank you for your response.

since other users are printing without any issue, can the affected user have to configure any setting to print just like others??

Greetings,

Like a low fuel warning in your car, the printer is telling you it needs toner. The printer will eventually stop printing for everyone. You may do as you wish, but using the printer until it doesn't have any toner left (at all) is not recommended. The warning is there to tell you its time for new toner, not to run it 100% down until it quits. The printer is not designed to continue printing with empty toners installed. To prolong its life, I suggest you replace what's low sooner rather than later.
