topic imageCLASS D530 paper jam in Office Printers

Would appreciate advice on removing torn-off paper that is stuck in an imageCLASS 530. I removed the toner cartridge and lowered the guide rollers as the paper-jam instructions indicate. Unfortunately, while trying to remove the stuck sheet of paper, I tore off the parts that were sticking out enough to hold and what's left of the jammed paper is no longer graspable on either end. I tried pulling on the remains with tweezers, but this just tore off little bits. Is there any way to, for example, remove the whole guide-roller mechanism (with the green pull-down tab in the middle) which might give me more access to what's left of the jammed paper? Or another approach? Thanks.

Hi dl639,
Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. The imageCLASS D530is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you find a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them Monday through Friday at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

I had this issue recently. Go get some packing tape and stick it all along the visible edge. Then stick some scrap paper to the packing tape. Now pull on the scrap paper and the stuck paper should follow it out.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will give it a try asap--but since there's very little visible edge to the stuck paper at this point, I'm not sure whether there will be enough to attach packing tape.
