color imageclass mf634cdw

I have had this printer for several years. I was just using it and now nothing. it is as if there is no power but it is plugged into a good outlet. Plugging other things into the outlet verifies the outlet is good but there is absolutely nothing, no lights or anything else. Is there a fuse?

There might be a fuse in the prong housing of the power cable. Look for a hidden door that slides out towards the prongs, and there might be a tiny fuse there.

Greetings,

The power cord included with this model does not include a fuse unfortunately. You can try a different cord and wall plug. The printer does include a 3 yr warranty, but if you've owned for "Several years" it would be expired. This model is about 7 years old now.

Options. Canon repair facility (only viable if you live close by) shipping + repair would be prohibitive

Local printer repair, search google for printer repair with your zip code

Canon Upgrade Program. Contact a Canon Upgrade Specialists at 1-866-443-8002

Hello,

If the unit will not power on, it will usually mean it needs service. You can try unplugging the printer from the power and then pressing the power button 10 times while the printer is unplugged. After that, you can plug the printer into a different power source, and you can try turning it on. If that does not work, there is something wrong with the hardware. To view your service options, you can log into your My Canon account or contact support over the phone at 1-800-562-2666 and they can check the hardware.
