Hello Midland477,

If you are trying to connect directly to a phone or tablet, I would not suggest using the hotspot on the mobile device. If you do not have a standard wireless network to connect the printer to, you can use the printer's direct connect feature. The printer has an access point that you can connect to whenever you need to print. You can turn on and use the direct connection using the steps in the link HERE. If you continue to have issues, I would suggest contacting support over the phone at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents would be happy to help.

Hello Community, I have a wireless Canon laser all-in-one that connects to wifi. I know this because under Mobile Portal SSID it shows my cell phone hotspot name. Print screen on my phone shows Canon MF731C/733C 192.168.43.51 - USA, and "This printer isn't available right now". I went to SSID PSK, re entered and saved the password just in case that was the problem, but no improvement. Two days ago I got a print after 10-14 days of no luck so you can say I get lucky once every 2 weeks. This clearly points to a problem with the printer rather than user error or set up issues.
