I'm having the same issue. My printer is connected to the same network and subnet as my desktop. I can ping the printer no problem but the script can't find my printer on Fedora. I had no issues installing it on my popOS laptop with the Debian installer.

I went through the system settings to install the printer, but since i couldn't use that install script it may have something to with the scangear program can't see the scanner too.

The install procedure cannot find the Canon GX7021. I followed the procedure described in the "IJ Printer Driver for Linux (Operation guide)".

The printer is definitely on the network and turned on. The command "lpinfo -v" finds it:

network dnssd://Canon-GX7021._ipp._tcp.local/?uuid=00000000-0000-1000-8000-0018a8016a14

...

network ipps://Canon-GX7021._ipps._tcp.local/

But the installation program does not find it. Specifically, /usr/lib/cups/backend/cnijbe2 and /usr/lib64/cups/backend/cnijbe2 do not produce any output.
