Hello SharonCanon,

To customize the scan settings, you can open the MFscan utility on your computer and then click the option for settings. In the setting window, you can click on the option for custom 1 and then you can adjust the scanner settings. you can use the steps in the link HERE to view how to change the scanner settings.
