my printer is not detecting bu my laptop

Dear Sir/Madam

I have canon printer MF4412 and iti is working very well in my old laptop but when i have purchase new laptop with win. 8.1 it is not detecting by my new laptop.

i have driver and also try to install it but during installation ask for connect printer when i connect it to my laptop my printer is not detecting and no connecting sound is appear.

So i though that it may be problem with laptop but when i connect with other printer it is detecting but my mf4412 is not detecting.

i know that driver instalation is necessary but without printer detecting by my laptop it is not possible.

please suggest me how to connect my mf4412 to my laptop.

please also suggest there are another way is for connecting it by other port or wireless.
