It is a soft clicking sound. 2 clicks much like a pendulum swinging. Coming from deep inside the machine. Approximately every 5 seconds. It is continuing this even when the printer is shut off and the power cable disconnected. Thoughts on what it is and how to make it stop?

Hello Gregelderdesign,

If the printer is making clicking/grinding noises when not in use or powered on, it looks like there is something wrong with the hardware or a jam in the printer. In this situation, I would suggest removing all of the toner and checking the inside for any obstructions. If it is clear, it will usually mean the printer needs service. In that situation, you can log into your MyCanon account or contact support at 1-800-652-2666. Our agents would be happy to assist.
