For the past 2 weeks I am seeing black spots on one edge of the paper being printed. I removed the ink

cartridge and cleaned the ink powder and also removed the part that holds the green roller bar and could see

some black ink residue on it and cleaned the residue. I put everything back together and still have black spots on

the right edge of each printed paper. Looking for a little help.

Daniel

Hello Jmontana1619,

If you find toner power on the inside of the printer and you see smudges on your prints, it does look like the toner cartridge is leaking. You can try removing the toner one more time and checking if you locate any more toner in the printer. If so, you can try wiping it up with a damp cloth and then performing some cleanings of the fixing assembly using the steps in the link HERE.

If the smudges do not clear or if they come back, it looks like there is something wrong with the toner cartridge or the printer's hardware. You can use the link HERE to access your My Canon account to see what service options are available.
