MF743cdw Duplex scan print defect

We have just installed a refurbished MF743cdw. Everything is connected and seems to be working well. Today I attempted to complete a duplex scan. I get a 2 and 7/8 inch solid print defect centered from top to bottom down the rear page. This defect appears on both B&W and color options. It is possible to make out some of the text within the defect band. It is like there is something obstructing the center top side scanning mechanism. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Where did your purchase it from?

Hard to say what this might be considering its refurb. Have you checked the ADF for packing / shipping materials, tape, etc?

Its a warranty replacement from Canon. The ADF is free and clear to my eye.

This sounds like an issue with the ADF. The printer has a 3yr warranty and a RMA replacement should be covered under the same term. As painful as it might be, you'll need to contact Canon again and give them an opportunity to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. If they can't, I'm sure you'll get another device.
