This printer has worked flawlessly for seven years. I print about 2,000 pages a year.

For the past few weeks, during the printing process, the printer makes a sound like it's struggling or maybe two parts are rubbing against each other.

Fifteen-second audio of how it sounds:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9B5FT51lrY

I don't find anything in the user manual about what is causing it or what I need to do to fix it.

Thank you.

Hello Sooze98148,

IF the printer is making a rubbing sound, it can mean there is something wrong with the hardware, there is a jam, or something is not seated correctly. In this situation, I would suggest removing all of the toner cartridges using the steps in the link HERE and then checking the interior for any obstructions.

If you still hear the noise when the toner is reloaded, it would mean there is something wrong with the hardware. You can log into your My Canon account using the link HERE to see what service/replacement options you have.
