MF642CDW - Extra Part in Box - No reference in startup guide

Our MF642CDW arrived with an extra plastic peice thatw is about a foot long and two inches wide. The manual indicates that the part is in the box but does not tell you where it belongs.

Any input is appreaciated.

But if I had to guess... Its a cover or extension for the ADF or paper tray when you use Legal size paper.

Investigate that and let us know.

Hello Csandrews68,

The part that you are describing is probably the cover for the paper drawer. When you extend the drawer to load larger sized paper, you can put the cover on the drawer to cover the paper that is sticking out of the front. You can use it to cover the drawer by using the steps in the link provided below.
