Darker colors on a MF743C ?

How do I adjust the color printing to be darker on a MF743C? I cannot find any settings that would do that. All colors are way to light. They are the correct color, just not dark enough. This is true for printing from several computers and from scanning with the MF743C. Thanks for any help.

Information about maintenance functions that can improve print quality may be found at the following page in the online manual:

Depending on the type of paper, you may wish to start with <Auto Adjust Gradation>, followed by <Rough Surface Paper Mode>.

I have tried this and gave up after an hour. I must be doing something wrong. I have a Canon ImageCLASS MF743cdw and am having the same issues as this other individual. I just want to make everything darker so that one can see it better. Way too light!
