I inherited this glorious printer from a friend, so I’m not sure of its mileage. I’ve been printing a million photos and it’s been going swimmingly, but I walked away (ie didn’t pickup each and every photo right after printing) and it got all stuck, did a paper AND and ink jam. It was a mess. It was an impressive mess. Changed the ink cartridge, cleaned the rubber rollers as recommended, reset everything, let it sit (off and unplugged) and think about itself for about two weeks, and it still will not print. My printing method is direct connection between my iPhone and the printer, and neither of the machines will tell me what’s wrong. I have an event that I’m printing these photos for that is in two days and I have been scouring the Internet trying everything. I don’t know what to do, please help me if you can. Thank you for your time!

Small and worse update:

Just learned that there was an app, downloaded, it FINALLY DID SOMETHING!! And then promptly ink jammed like absolute crazy, so much so that I cannot even get the ink cartridge out to try and replace it. The cartridge is STUCK. Tried some gentle prying, and it’s not budging. Yes I did start by pulling the eject toggle. Not a budge! What is even going on??? I just want to print photos 😭

Hi Fmpn,

It would appear that your SELPHY CP1300 would require service. To obtain sevice, please forward your SELPHY CP1300 to the Factory Service Center (FSC) shown below. You are not required to send any accessories or manuals when shipping the printer. Be sure to include your name, street address (no P.O. boxes, please), telephone number, and a letter describing the issue with the product. If it has been less than one year since the printer was purchased, we ask that you also include proof of warranty in the form of a copy of your sales receipt. If a proof of purchase is not available, you can include an explanation of the reason (gift, receipt lost, etc.) and an estimated date of purchase. The FSC will determine Warranty Status.

If it is determined that the product is not eligible for warranty repair, a repair estimate will be provided by e-mail or standard mail. The FSC will not contact customers by telephone.

As we do not provide RMA numbers for service, we suggest using a trackable and insurable service (i.e. UPS, Federal Express, Priority Mail) to ship your printer. Please package the printer very securely to prevent damage during shipment.

Please send your printer to the following address:

Canon Factory Service
12022 Canon Boulevard
Newport News, VA 23606

Once you have confirmed with your shipper that the printer has been delivered, you are more than welcome to contact us for repair updates. Please include your name, address, and telephone number, as well as the serial number of the printer, in all repair status inquiries. If you prefer to check the repair status from your web browser, please visit the following link:

Please note that our U.S. Factory Service Centers are unable to accept packages from or return equipment to addresses outside the United States.

I tore it apart and put it all back together. That ultimately did the trick 🙂 However it will still only print through the app, which I had not previously used. I can live with that, though. So all is well now, except that I did break my tiniest screwdriver.
