I need help getting my Canon MP41DHII to print darker. Ribbon has been changed. Ideas??

I need help getting my Canon MP41DHII calculator to print darker. I have changed the ribbon but that doesn't help. Any ideas?? Thanks.

How long have you had the replacement ribbons before putting them in the MP41DHII? Ribbons can dry out even in the packaging, so if it's over four years old, you might need new ribbons.

Hi Steve:

The cartridges are fairly new. They are a generic brand (DataProducts). I looked for "Canon" cartridges but couldn't find them.
