You should call the CarePak folks.

1-833-CAREPAK.

Since repair/replacement is one of the program features I would expect the replacement product would be covered for the terms the contract on the original product.

Hello. One of my cameras was replaced with carepak. When I received the camera and registered it it offered for me to purchase carepak for it. Am I allowed to buy carepak for camera that was replaced by carepak? And just submit the receipt for the repair as proof of purchase?

Insurance companies require full descriptions of items insured. Full description would be brand, model number, serial number. Lay everything out on a bed or table and take a photo with someone's camera.

Learned the hard way- March 1970, had 12 guns stolen. Had to sue the insurance company and won. Now I have a safe and full description of everything.

@ragnar21

CarePaks for Camera and lenses are sold in 2 and 4-year terms. Note that a CarePak is a service contract tied to a serial number. It is not insurance or a warranty.

Depending on the reason for replacement. It's possible you're replacement device will continue to be covered under the original terms of your CarePak, however, in some instances, a full replacement can exhaust the remaining contract. I'd log into you MyCanon account to check status. If you have more questions, please follow John's advice and contact Canon.

If the contract is exhausted "one and done" replacement, you can buy a new CarePak on your replacement body, a 2 or 4 year term.

This is a great question. Please post a follow-up after getting an update. It will be helpful to others.
