I had a different Canon printer (pixma) but had the same question. I figured it out and here are the steps I used to create a pdf file with multiple pages:

Scan pages into a folder with today’s date. Each page will show in a text window on screen.

After scanning, select pages to combine into a single file. There are boxes to check to select each page.

Click on PDF from the menu on left side of window. Menu will show up after you select the pages.

Then click on Create/Edit PDF fle

Delete any pages shown in the window that you don’t want combined

Click Save All Pages

Click Finish

This will produce a new document (you’ll have the option to name it) with all the pages in one document.

If the pages aren’t in the right order, you can rearrange them in the window before combining.

Hope this helps.
