    <description>&lt;P&gt;What has Canon done to rectify the tremendous motherboard failure rate? There are thousands of complaints for the same problem that that only get the generic "unplug and replug" response. No other explanation or instruction is given except to have the printer serviced. Attention Canon!, printer service is not free! There are also thousands of customers who didn't bother to post a complaint. I was one of them until the failure of my third Canon pinter in 4 years. The printers were excellent when they worked but they have the longivity of a housefly. Its very unlikely that I'll ever buy anything elsem ade bu Canon and will definately reccommend to everyone to avoid Canon printers.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
