Does anyone know what to do when change cartridge keeps flashing with new cartridge?

Second brand new cartridge installed. This has never happened before. I have unplugged, held reset button down for 10 seconds but these things are not clealring problem. Since our machine is old there is no Cannon support by phone for this model. At this point we cannot use our fax machine.

Hello Wrmaronmd.

The L80 needs to remain powered on when replacing the toner. If the toner is changed while the L80 is powered off, it's liable to go with the "last known accurate" status and not detect the new cartridge.

Unplug the L80.

Remove the toner cartridge by the handle.

Plug the L80 back in and power it back on.

With the L80 powered on, reinsert the toner cartridge.

If the toner cartridge still reports as empty, double-check that you're using a fresh Canon genuine toner cartridge. Our cartridges are not designed to be refilled or reset, and a refilled or remanufactured toner cartridge may report at its last-known or last-estimated level.

If you need immediate assistance with this issue, please contact us using the numbers and information at http://Canon.us/ContactLI

Did this answer your question?
