    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi REgan,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Since the steps&amp;nbsp;in the&amp;nbsp;link&amp;nbsp;are not an authorized repair posted from Canon you will want to use discretion when performing the steps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If your scanner is still within the one year warranty, please call&amp;nbsp; us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666), Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST so we can look into replacing the printer or try to see if there is an authorized&amp;nbsp;repair facility near you.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If the&amp;nbsp;scanner is out of warranty, you can take it to any local repair shops in your area to have it repaired. You also qualify for the Canon Upgrade program.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system.&amp;nbsp;This&amp;nbsp;program allows you&amp;nbsp;the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price.
