Hi xrqp,

In addition to turning off the power and placing the scanner lock switch in the locked position, please remove the power cord from the unit. Once these items have been done, feel free to secure the item in the original packaging and box for shipment.

When unpacking the scanner after shipment or removing it from storage, if there is a considerable difference in temperatures from where it was stored and where it will be used, you will want to leave the scanner enough time to gradually adapt to new conditions before use, as condensation that may have devleoped could cause image errors.

Hope this helps!

This didn't answer your question or issue?

I have a canon 9000F scanner. I want to ship it.

I tried to slide the scanner lock switch to lock it, but it does not move. Is there a trick to locking it?

Then I was also going to tape the cover down closed.

Then put it back in all the original box and packing.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks.

I turned off the power and then I was able to lock it.

Do I need to tape anything more than taping the cover closed?
