Printer idling long time, switch off or leave on?

I have a MX922 and a PRO 10 attached to my iMac. I do not print that frequent. 922 I might print a few pages in a day and leave it idle for another couple of days before printing again. I use my PRO only when I have projects to go. Say I might use it 2-3 consecutive days in a month and leave it idle for the rest of the month.

Should I leave them switched on 24/7 even when I am not using it? or should I turn them off, and only turn them on when I need to use it?

Some says the print head might clog if I do not turn it on all the time, same said if I use original Canon ink it will not clog even if I turn it off.

Advise? or official answer from Canon?
