Why can I not access higher scan resolutions.

I have just updated to Windows 10 64bit - this may be irrelevant as this is the first time I tried to access high res scanning.

WIth Corel Photo Paint the highest scan resolution is 600dpi.

With Scan Gear the highest res available is 1200dpi

I figured I might need new drivers so I uninstalled all existing Canon software and then downloaded the windows 10 package from

http://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/scanners/lide_series/canoscan_lide_220.aspx?type=drivers&language=&os=WINDOWS%2010%20%2864-bit%29

which recommended the 'full package'.

So I ran the program win-lide220-1_0-mcd.exe.

I then tried to access high res scanning again - but still the max is 600dpi in Corel and 1200 in Scan Gear.

Advice appreciated.

Thanks
