    <description>&lt;P&gt;I have a brand new a Canoscan LIDE 300 and on every scan half of the scan is perfect but the other half appears in shadow, and/ or&amp;nbsp; darker.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;I've cleaned the cover and the platen, and fooled around with a couple of things but there's not much out there on this parrticular problem.&amp;nbsp; I'm thinking it could be defective but wanted to see if anyone else ran into this issue.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks!&lt;/P&gt;</description>
