I would expect that there are hardware differences that allow it to interface and that a simple firmware update couldn't enable it.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Many Canon dSLRs are&amp;nbsp;'Eyefi Connected', meaning they have built in&amp;nbsp;support for Eyefi SD cards. However, the W-E1 seems to take the Eyefi concept one step further, allowing control of the camera too.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Maybe not to leading-edge pros, but to people like you and me.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;HR /&gt;&lt;/BLOCKQUOTE&gt;&lt;P&gt;I agree.&amp;nbsp; I expect it to continue to sell, too, until current inventories expire.&amp;nbsp; I'm just saying that it is quite likely no longer in production.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In addition, whatever design team that they had assembled for the 5D3, has most likely long been broken up.&amp;nbsp; The team designed and released a product.&amp;nbsp; Corrected any glaring firmware bugs.&amp;nbsp; What's left for them to do?&amp;nbsp; In fact, many members of the 5D3 team were most likely re-assigned to be part of the 5D4 design team.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So, why is there apparently a 7D2 design team still assembled?&amp;nbsp; Good question.&amp;nbsp; But, I think it might suggest something about how soon we might see a 7D3, which is perhaps not very soon.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
