    <description>&lt;P&gt;...keeping in mind that there is a reason the extended ISO's are locked.&amp;nbsp; By locking them, the manufacturer is acknowledging that for most situations the image quality is not going to be acceptable, with so much noise at that high an ISO level.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I am not sure if the extended ISO on a 40D also include a lower ISO, like&amp;nbsp;ISO 50, but that is actually pretty useful.&amp;nbsp; It is like adding&amp;nbsp;a 1 stop ND filter so you can get longer exposures in daylight for things like blurring water, etc., and there is no discernable image quality loss.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Im using Canon 40D, Im facing a problem, that I can't push the ISO upto the last limit H (3200). It stops at 1600, I move the dail, it does not go another stop Further?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;before this&amp;nbsp;camera,&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;I had another Canon 40D . In that camera I could push ISO to 3200 H. the firmware was 1.0.5, I updated the firmware to 1.1.1, still the same.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Waiting for replies and a solution.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>You have to enable/unlock extended ISO in the menus. By default they are disabled. Noodle around for a few minutes and see if you can find it.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Scott is correct. I still have my downloaded manual &amp;amp; the info is on page 154. It's a Custom Function (C.Fn 1-3) and you need to set it to 1&lt;/P&gt;</description>
