can not access files on my canon

my hp Elite note book sees my Canaon camera.....but i can not access fies on my system.....what could be the problem?

Which camera are you using?
Which HP EliteBook and Operating System are you using? They were introduced in 2008.
What software are you using on the HP?
Are connecting the camera to the laptop via USB, or wirelessly?
Have you tried a card reader? Most current laptops have a built-in SD slot.
