EOS Rebel T7 says Sports mode instead of Video

Hey I’m trying to shoot videos on my Canon Rebel T7 but when I go to the video setting it says it’s in Sports mode. Anyone know how to fix that??

Can't help with the question but are you using the recommended card for video? Check the manual as the T7 takes a certain card for video.

What you describe sounds like the rotary encoder switch. That detects what position the mode dial is in. Could be faulty causing the camera not to go into video mode.

Yeah I have the right SD card. I think the dial is faulty cause I called customer service and he couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it either so he told me to send it in to get serviced. I just bought this camera a couple months ago and it’s my first one 😩
