I am aware that Canon USA no longer services the 1V, however Canon Japan is still offering support. I’ve dug around the Canon Japan website but haven’t been able to find a way to contact them and get the camera serviced. There are US camera repair facilities that can possibly handle your repair. Give Midwest Camera Repair a call. The problem is parts. So if Canon USA can't get parts I doubt Japan will have much more or any in that area either.
