topic EOS R6 Black photos in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

When I try to take a photo on my camera the screen is just black. When I click the button to take a photo I can see for just a second then it goes black again. Has anyone ever had this happen?

This is standard behavior on most cameras. What specific camera do you have?

If you press the Info button, it should cycle amongst what to display on the rear LCD screen. One being a completely blank screen. After you take a photo, it will briefly show, then revert back to the current info screen you set up (the blank screen if you've set it up that way).

To which screen are your referring - there are two options:
1. The Electronic viewfinder (EVF)
2. The LCD at the back of the camera
You can configure how they behave through the menus. Have you checked out display in the manual for v1.6.0 and above P243 yet? See: https://cam.start.canon/hy/C004/manual/c004.pdf

To review images you can change what you see by using the DISP button.
