What is fastest and easiest way to download photos from EOS R7 to my laptop (Windows11)?

I have set up wifi with my laptop, and connection with my iPhone. Both work, but aren't as easy or fast as connecting my old Powershot SX60 which I did with a cord. Is another cord easiest and fastest? If so, what type of cord (didn't come with a cord). 😞 One end of the cord would be a standard USB, presumably, so what would be the other? Or, do I need to buy a SD card reader (my laptop only has a mini SD card port). Which is best, or is there an even better solution?

The port on the camera is USB-C. Other end depends on your computer. If you are going to use a cable make sure it is a data cable.

However, the best and most reliable method would be to use a card reader.

Agreed. SD card reader is the best option.

Using a data cable from SX60 to laptop will work, but you'll need to keep the camera powered on during the file transfer. An SD card reader (especially one that support Apple Lightning for your iPhone and USB for your laptop) can be a lot simpler--especially if you have more than one memory card.

I owned a photo lab for over 24 years and I can tell you FOR sure, use a card reader! I had customers that tried the cable method from the camera and either the battery died, someone bumped the camera damaging the download or some other situation occurred that ruined the card, camera or...Invest in a card reader! And once you've downloaded images and have them securely on your computer and are ready to reuse your card, FORMAT it in the camera! And do that with new cards too- or cards used previously in other cameras or devices. And finally, I would recommend to NEVER delete images IN the camera! All of those things NOT followed I saw cause problems and corrupt the images!
