Yup, I ran into this issue last month. For me, it was changing the AF-MF switch to AF on the front of the camera. Too bad the setting doesn't show up on the menus.

NMy R7 is stuck on manual focus. I have turned the camera off, removed battery, changed the settings. In the menu (AF - AF operation) only MF is an option. I've read of at least one other person with this issue who had to factory reset. Do I have any other options?

Hello jlf100 welcome to the forums. Are you using native RF/ RF-S glass or adapted EF/ EF-S glass. I would check the AF/MF switch if this is an adapted EF/ EF-S lens and ensure that its set to AF. For an RF/ RF-S lens I would also check the AF/MF switch to ensure its set to AF. Some RF/ RF-S lenses do not have this switch. I would check the camera menu to ensure AF is enabled. Also ALL RF/ RF-S lenses are Focus By Wire including USM lenses NOT just STM lenses. Also does the electronic focus ring work too (assuming your using an RF/ RF-S lens) the camera metering system MUST be active for manual focus to work. This also applies to adapted EF/ EF-S STM lenses and adapted EF/ EF-S USM lenses which use an electronic focus ring.

-Demetrius

EF 16-35mm F/2.8L III USM, EF 24-70mm F/2.8L II USM, EF 28-135mm F/3.5-5.6 IS USM (Retired), EF 50 F/1.8 STM, EF 85mm F/1.8 USM & EF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS III USM

EOS 40D (Retired) & 5D Mark IV

430EX III-RT, 470EX-AI & 600EX II-RT

Using the kit lens. Just tried another Canon lens with adapter and AF works. Just have to figure out why the 18-150 will not allow AF. Relative novice here - maybe a trip to a local camera store is in order.

Using a new Canon R7. Autofocus was working fine in the morning with a Canon 18-135mm IS USM lens and Neewar adapter. It had worked fine ever since I got the camera. This afternoon I took the lens and adapter off the camera body to check the fit of a new padded lens pouch. When I put the lens back on the body, adapter already attached, the lens was not fully seated into the adapter. I fixed that problem and I had autofocus again as before.
