      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello, I am a bird photographer. I just purchased an EOS R7 and like the subject tracking and eye detection AF. In my old EOS 80D I had the option to pick a single point and the camera would focus on that point only. I sometimes need this capability while photographing a single bird out of a flock.       <description>&lt;P&gt;I forgot to mention that I have have tracking and eye detect turned off by default and have set up buttons to enable/disable them. This doesn't seem to help.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The eye focus works well if the subject is reasonably close or isolated.&amp;nbsp; If it is in a group or at a fair distance the eye is not always detected.&amp;nbsp; There may be a better method, but, I use the custom settings C1 (eye focus) and C2 (spot focus or single point), C1 is for single birds where the eye can be detected and I switch to C2 for when the bird is in a group or distant.&amp;nbsp; I use back button focus AF-on for each of these modes and the AE Lock (*) button in either mode to capture a flying bird.&amp;nbsp; Here are my basic settings:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="Screenshot from 2023-04-04 07-47-38.png" style="width: 999px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/40741i165075C8277BB5D1/image-size/large?v=v2&amp;amp;px=999" role="button" title="Screenshot from 2023-04-04 07-47-38.png" alt="Screenshot from 2023-04-04 07-47-38.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
