7d hot shoe screw size?

So I took the screws out to try to fix then spring… didn’t work. But now I can’t get one of the screws back in… the bracket fell too low. Was wondering what size the screws were so I could try to get one just a little longer to pull the bracket up

I don't know the screw size, but was wondering if turning the camera upside down would cause the plate to fall towards the top of the camera and allow the screw to engage the plate.

Unfortunately not, it did for the other slots, however not for the last one. I tried magnet. I tried screwdriver with magnetic tip. Nothing.

Canon did not design that part to be user serviceable. If you were to bring your 7D to Canon for service, they would sell you a new top cover and then install it for you. If you were to remove the top cover, you might be able to get it back together yourself.
