Canon EOS Rebel 888 (EOS 5000) Default ISO with non-dx coded film?

I recently shot a roll of Kodak Vision 3 50D in my Canon EOS 888. The film is non-dx coded, since this camera uses DX codes only to set film speed I assumed it would default to the lowest ISO 25 like my Canon SureShot does, but I just got my roll back from the lab and it appears to be about 3-4 stops underexposed.

Does anybody know what this camera defaults to without DX-coded film? It isn't listed in the manual or on the canon website or anywhere.

I'm assuming the camera might just remember the last ISO it set to, since the previous roll was Cinestill 800 (unlucky) and it appears to be about -4 stops underexposed (ISO 50 film to 800 is 4 stops)
