Hi! Bought EOS R last winter. Worked fine on old Lenovo laptop for months no problems. Windows 10. This summer got a new laptop , HP with Win 11. Worked fine for about 2 months then suddenly ( while traveling) the pc no longer sees the camera as a memory drive. Can find it only under ' portable devices'. Download utility doesn't see it either. My old 7D is still seen as an external drive and with some fuss the download utility works. Ive spent hours on phone with Canon and HP to no avail! Tried restore to earlier state. Nothing. Got message once about incompatibility but only once. Very inconsistent. Tried turning off virus protection etc..., uninstall and reinstall software repeatedly. Ive read a lot of folk having trouble but none where it did work and suddenly stopped. Got my images off using a card reader but hardly ideal. Suggestions please?!

the free app CCleaner can sometimes straighten out PC issues through a registry check.

I prefer using a card reader.
