Canon EOS R3 with Spotting Scope

I've tried to pair my R 3 to the Kowa TSN-99A spotting scope. I've used all the necessary Kowa digitscoping parts, but the R 3 won't take a photo. I set it on manual focus and focused correctly, the type B card has room on it (99 photos remaining), all to no avail. Any suggestions?

There should be a menu option on the R3 to shoot without lens.

I can't find that option in the menu. Could you tell me where it is and what it's listed as. Many thanks.

I do not have R3, but on R5 it is "custom functions 4" section of the manual and is called "Release shutter w/o lens" in the manual. I hope this might be of some help.

Where is it? If you have downloaded a copy of the full user manual, do a search for the phrase “release shutter” or “without lens”.

In the R5 manual, "without lens" will not be found. If the R3 manual were similar, it would be necessary to search for "w/o lens".
