    <description>&lt;P&gt;I keep my tripod's quick release plate mounted on the bottom of my camera all the time.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I read someone the other day who said that the camera "detects" the quick release plate and "determines" that you are using a tripod, and that that affects your camera's image stbilization.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Do you think this is true?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Steve Thomas&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Nope. &amp;nbsp;I would highly doubt any camera would have some kind of sensor built in to see if a plate were attached.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Unless I'm traveling, I have an RRS L-bracket affixed permanently to my 5D IV. &amp;nbsp; It's a physical connection only.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
