I went to use camera and “exp. sim” was flashing on screen but not in view finder. First why was it flashing

I don't want to sound dumn but, I don't see a solution? What does a flashing ECP SIM mean?

Thank you for the quick reply. The link takes me to the canon-europe home page. I don't see a solution there. Also, when it is flashing, I can't take a photo. Is this normal? I've only had my camera for a few weeks and am a bit overwhelmed. Thanks again.
