The 70-200 f/4 is a fantastic value. Super sharp. Hard to go wrong with that.

What do you shoot, though? Landscapes? Kids? Sports? Portraits? Any need for indoor low light capability?

Why do you feel you need something else? How is the lens you've got now coming up short? Not wide enough? Not long enough? Not able to render a strongly out of focus background? Not able to focus close enough?

Until you can tell us what you are missing, it's pretty hard to recommend a lens.

The EF 70-200/4 IS USM is an excellent telezoom... if that's what you need.

***********

Alan Myers
San Jose, Calif., USA
"Walk softly and carry a big lens."
GEAR: 5DII, 7D(x2), 50D(x3), some other cameras, various lenses & accessories
FLICKR & EXPOSUREMANAGER

I agree with Alan Myers. The focal length isn't really any better. Longer on one side but shorter on the other.

Your requirements?

The 70-200mm f4 is better in every other spec and way you can measure it, though.
