EOS 60D Can the Magnifying Frame be turned off?

While doing astrophotography, the Magnifying Frame gets in the way of observation and focusing. Also, it ruins night vision.

I see it can be moved but don't see a way of turning it off.

Any help?

Yes....but there doesn't seem to be a setting to turn the Magnifying Frame OFF. Did I miss it?

If you are in manual mode, than maybe not. You might have to move it to a corner and put tape over it.

Right, so if you move it to the corner, you can cover it with gaffers tape so it won't be so bright.
