topic video quality: Canon EOS M10? in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras

Not sure where to post this, but my camera has a lot of problems focusing during a video. Since when I record I’m a bit far from my camera (full image for an outfit lookbook) I cant see if it’s doing his job or if it’s still trying to focus. Sometimes I had to cut whole minutes of recording because totally out of focus. I switched to AF and the result was pretty much the same. Is my camera just not meant to record videos properly or is there a way I can solve this issue? (Something like settings, lighting, lenses, etc.)

What lens are you using? What aperture?

What you could try to do...

Place some prop (e.g. chair) where you'll be standing. I'm assuming you have the camera on a tripod, so switch to manual focus and adjust it on that prop. Choose a narrow enough aperture to get good depth of field. Stand in the prop's location and try capturing some footage.

Is there any way to remotely control the camera? e.g. via smartphone, tablet? If so, you could use that to fine-tune focus as well.
