Camera connect app for Canon M50 and Canon RP is not adding GPS data

Both my M50 and my RP are successfully connected to the camera connect app on my iPhone via Bluetooth. (Remote live view shooting and Image on camera work).

But using the camera app while shooting pictures will not add the GPS data

I do not see the GPS icon in the viewfinder or display when I take a picture

Camera connect app version 2.7.30.20 (build 1237) on iPhone12 Pro Max

Firmware 1.0.3 on EOS M50

Firmware 1.6.0 on EOS RP

Did you setup the GPS Device as being your smartphone?
