Hi there,

It looks like the proper setting is on page 285 of the Advanced User Guide ( https://cam.start.canon/en/C003/manual/c003.pdf )

When in Stills shooting mode, in any mode other than [A+], the movie resolution is set based on the movie resolution of the Custom 3 Movie Shooting settings, so if you change the movie settings on the Custom 3 Movie mode to 4k, your movie resolution in Stills shooting P, Tv, Av or M modes will reflect that change.

When in any still camera modes you can still take a video with the record button w/o changing to video modes. Unless I am missing something you cannot change the default resolution from 1080P. I would prefer to change it to 4K video. Is there any way to change this? It is nice to be able to quickly record video while in any of the still camera modes to capture something unexpected.

Thank you. I saw this and changed the setting but it did not work. Then I realized that I forgot to save the custom settings after the change. Now it it working.
