R5 10 Bit 422

I have tried to record video at 10 bit 4.2.2 but only get 10 bit 4.2.0 pn my R5. My settings are:

4K DCI Fine; 23.98p; All-I (also tried with 4K UHD Fine; 23.98p; All-I)

4k HQ Enabled

Canon Log: on

The literature I have seen says this should produce 10 bit, 4.2.2.

When I bring the clip into Premiere and look in "Properties'" it says10 bit, 4.2.0.

I called Canon and they said that perhaps Premiere Pro is mis-reading the properties.

Any advice on how to get 10 bit 4.2.2 at 4K would be helpful.

Hi there,

I didn't see it mentioned so I thought I would ask: what are you recording onto? 4K All-I 10-bit 4:2:2 recording is not possible to an SD card so I believe you would need to set the camera to record either to the CFExpress card or to an external recorder via HDMI. That's what I gather from page 314 of the advanced user guide.

I was recording to the CFExpress Card. As it turns out, Premiere Pro gives the wrong indication. I was achieving 10 bit 4.2.2 but Premiere Pro labeled it as 4.2.0 in "Properties." That is a flaw in Premiere Pro. When I viewed the clip in a program called "Media info" it correctly identified it as 10 bit 4.2.2.
