Thanks Scotty for the reply. I was leaning toward the T4i, but wanted some input. I have two lenses 18-55 and 55-250 which right at this point is fine. I have used 100-400 shooting some hummingbirds, but I just rented that one.

I am presently using a EOS T3. What would be the better choice for an upgrade? A T4i, T5i or 60D?

T4i in my opinion, because it is nearly identical to T5i but a bit cheaper, and image quality is same on all of them.

The 60d is older and has an older processor than the others, and also costs more. OTOH, If you have big hands or just like a larger camera body than your T3, then maybe the 60d is for you. It does have a few more buttons than the rebels do so you can change settings a little faster., which is nice if you really use the buttons.

I don't know what lenses you have but if you splurge you should do it on glass and not camera bodies.

Good.
One thing you don't have is a wide aperture lens. With the savings plus just a bit more you should treat yourself to a 50mm f/1.4, or for just $100 get a 50 f/1.8. They do almost magical things wide open and close to a subject. Subject is isolated, background is blurred bokeh, background lights are big round disks. Plus they are great in low light. Too fun.

Funny you should mention a 50mm. I just read an article on that very lens. I have really thought that would be a great lens for me as I like shooting flowers and that kind of thing, birds if they hold still long enough!!

One note: If the OP had a T3i, I would say don't bother with a body at all until after a lens upgrade. But I believe OP has a T3, not a T3i. The T3 is a lower mp sensor (12mp vs 18 mp) and is the very base model.

I did invest in a 50mm 1.8 and really like it. I still would like to upgrade my T3 body at some point. You were corredt that I have the T3 not the T3i. Thanks for the input.
