How do I set up my T4i so it takes only 4-5 shots quickly.....to make certain that I get one GOOD picture?

Look up SETTING THE DRIVE in your manual.

I would if I could. I can't, cuz I don't have the manual. Again, how do I set the drive for multi shots?

Press the <Drive> (look like stack of photos) on the left of the SET key, then turn the dial to multi-shot.

Thanks. I gather that I only get a choice of one shot or continuous, right? Isn't there a selection for just 3 or 4 shots?

From page 66 of the T4i manual: Use SELF-TIMER: CONTINUOUS use the UP/DOWN arrows to set from 2 to 10 shots AFTER the self-timer times out.

Continuous should present no problem. You just hold the button down while the thing is happening and let up when it is done. I think that is much more logical than a set 4 or 5 exposures.
Bracketing and HDR are not applicable to your example.
