Connecting EOS Rebel T3 to iMac with Catalina OS

I got a new Mac and it has Catalina OS. I plug camera into computer and nothing happens. I used to be able to plug directly into my MacBook and it uploaded pics immediately.

Is there new software I need to download?

Have you tried running image capture first, and then plugging in the camera?
